The Women's Housing Coalition (WHC) seeks an experienced, hands-on professional to perform and manage maintenance and inspections at its four apartment buildings and at sites scattered throughout Baltimore City.

The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Property Manager, and has significant interaction with third-party landlords throughout Baltimore City. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned maintenance professional with a personable nature. As the WHC attempts to grow its organization, there may be opportunities for growth and expansion of the maintenance department within WHC. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for performing on-site maintenance, responding to emergency calls, assuring compliance with HQS standards during physical building and unit inspections as required by funders, licensing and other authorities. This position is also primary contact for contracting and coordinating with outside vendors.

Essential job functions for this position include:

  • Executing in-house maintenance including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, plumbing and repairs.
  • Performing in-house building inspections to assure adherence to codes and regulations
  • Facilitating physical compliance and licensing inspections
  • Coordinating unit turnovers
  • Responding to emergencies on an on-call basis
  • Supervising volunteers during special projects
  • Ability to schedule and perform in a high pressure environment
  • Maintaining data in computer systems for work orders and preventative maintenance
  • Coordinating with external landlords to assure maintenance, repairs and inspection compliance

Other requirements:

  • Must have driver's license and own insured vehicle
  • This position is non-exempt and may require some weekend and evening work
  • Experience with electrical systems, plumbing and multiple HVAC system types
  • Possesses own tools
  • Experience with HQS standards is preferred, but not required
  • Working knowledge of computer systems including both maintenance, calendaring, and limited business software
  • Desire to work in a mission oriented organization
